After suffering a humiliating group-stage exit from the T20 World Cup, Pakistan will look to rejuvenate themselves when they tour Australia for six white-ball matches. Considering the team's recent abysmal performances, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is mulling over bringing drastic changes to their white-ball setup.

According to emerging reports, experienced wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan will likely succeed Babar Azam as Pakistan's white-ball captain. Rizwan has been a proven performer for Pakistan and can help them change their fortunes with his strategic acumen.

No Place For Fakhar, Shadab And Iftikhar In Pakistan Team

As reported by Cricket Pakistan, veteran cricketers Fakhar Zaman and Shadab Khan might be excluded from Pakistan's squad for the Australia ODIs and T20Is. While Fakhar is dealing with fitness issues, Shadab will likely be ignored for his prolonged rough patch with the ball.

The report also claims Pakistan might drop Iftikhar Ahmed, their first-choice finisher in white-ball cricket. In such a scenario, the Men in Green's ODI and T20I squads are likely to have a whole new look.

Babar, Shaheen And Naseem To Return?

In a dramatic move, Pakistan rested Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah from their Test squad, citing the players would fine-tune their skills for the Australia series. So, these three players will likely return for the ODI leg, with Babar and Shaheen also making it into the T20I team.

Young Players In PCB's Focus For Australia Series

If the reports are to be believed, Pakistan will likely include several promising players in their ODI and T20I squads for the Australia series. While spinners Sufiyaan Muqeem and Mehran Mumtaz might receive their maiden call-ups, the likes of Kamran Ghulam, Qasim Akram, Arafat Minhas and Yasir Khan could get an opportunity to showcase their talent.
