Lucknow Super Kings will take on Gujarat Titans [Source: IPL]
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will take on Gujarat Titans (GT) at their home ground, Ekana Cricket Stadium, on April 12 in the ongoing IPL 2025. LSG, led by Rishabh Pant, are coming off two solid wins – one against Mumbai Indians and another close one over Kolkata Knight Riders. In the match against KKR, Nicholas Pooran played a brilliant unbeaten innings of 87 runs and was named Player of the Match. Bowlers Digvesh Singh and Avesh Khan bowled tight spells in the second innings, helping LSG win by just four runs.
On the other hand, Gujarat Titans are also in good form with four wins out of five games. So, this clash is going to be interesting, and LSG might make a few changes in their lineup.
LSG's Playing XI vs KKR
Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, Rishabh Pant (c and wk), David Miller, Ayush Badoni, Abdul Samad, Digvesh Singh Rathi, Shardul Thakur, Akash Deep, Avesh Khan
LSG’s batting looks strong. Openers Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh are doing well, and Nicholas Pooran – who’s currently wearing the Orange Cap – is in great touch too. So the batting is likely to stay the same.
Rishabh Pant To Make Changes?
However, there could be some changes in their pace bowling. Even though they have options like Shardul Thakur, Akash Deep, and Avesh Khan, Akash Deep hasn’t been at his best since coming back from injury.
Against | Wickets | Runs |
KKR | 2 | 55 |
MI | 1 | 46 |
[Stats Of Akash Deep this Season]
As evidenced by the above stats, in the last two matches, he gave away 55 runs against KKR (despite taking 2 wickets) and 46 runs against Mumbai Indians while picking up just one wicket. However, they might not make this move this time as they don't have a potential replacement right now.
So, while LSG might stick with the same playing XI, the choice of their impact player could depend on whether they bat or bowl first. If they bat first, Ravi Bishnoi might come in as the impact player – although he hasn’t found top form yet this season.
When Will Mayank Yadav Return?
As for Mayank Yadav, he’s still recovering from an injury and is currently at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. There’s no update yet on when he’ll return.
