Orange And Purple Cap Winner: Who Tops The List In IPL 2025 After CSK vs KKR Game?

In what was a proper dominating act at Chepauk, the visiting Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) side demolished Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at their home by eight wickets and 59 balls to spare. KKR bowlers badly troubled the CSK batters, as they could only post 103 on the board after the end of their 20 overs, for nine wickets.

Sunil Narine was KKR’s super performer with a spell of three wickets for 13 runs in his four overs, while smashing an 18-ball 44 with five sixes and two fours, helping KKR to a comfortable victory by eight wickets. Despite the change in captaincy, with MS Dhoni at the helm once again, CSK couldn’t turn their fortune around at their beloved fortress, Chepauk. 

Therefore, let’s have a look at the orange and purple cap holders after the 25th game of the IPL 2025 between CSK vs KKR.

IPL 2025 Orange Cap List

On the orange cap charts, Nicholas Pooran still retains his number one position with 288 runs after five games, at an average of 72, while striking at a perfect 225. GT’s Sai Sudharsan and LSG’s Mitchell Marsh also retain their second and third positions, respectively.

Whereas, Kolkata Knight Riders’ skipper, Ajinkya Rahane, who has been in fine form this season, struck an unbeaten 20 off 17 deliveries and has now moved to the fourth position on the table with 204 runs to his name after featuring in six games. He has now surpassed Jos Buttler, who was fourth earlier and is now fifth with 202 runs in five matches. While Mumbai's Suryakumar Yadav has now slipped to sixth position with 199 runs in his tally so far.

IPL 2025 Purple Cap List

On the purple cap charts, CSK’s Noor Ahmad, who bowled two overs for eight runs with a lone wicket of Sunil Narine, is still at the top with 12 wickets in six matches, at an average of 13.16, while maintaining an economy of 7.90. He is ahead of Mumbai’s skipper, Hardik Pandya, who has 10 wickets so far in four games, while GT’s Sai Kishore and Mohammed Siraj are third and fourth, respectively, with 10 wickets to their names as well.

On number five is Khaleel Ahmed, who also shares 10 wickets with all three of them, but has a higher average and strike rate as compared to all three, and is still fifth after being unable to pick a single wicket in this encounter while leaking away 40 runs in his three overs.
