Reliance Stadium Vadodara Pitch Report

As seen in the last game, the pitch of the Reliance Stadium in Vadodara assisted batters early on as Smriti along with debutant slammed a 110 run partnership. However, later on as the game proceeded wickets kept on tumbling and eventually by the time chase began it was worn out so much so that Windies women were all out in less than hundred runs.

On the bowling front, historically the track has assisted spinners, with the ball gripping and turning, making it difficult for the batters to score freely. But as seen recently after pacer Renuka Singh unleashed hell on the Women in Maroon with the ball, the fast bowlers may find some assistance in the initial few overs.

  • Smriti Mandhana: After her blazing 91-run knock in the first ODI, it is safe to say that Smriti will be an important player for the Indian side. She has looked in sublime form and India would be banking on her to bring her A-game to the upcoming clash.
  • Renuka Singh: Renuka, who bagged her first ODI fifer against Windies Women, has been on the top of her game. Her heroics in the game helped India win by a mammoth margin. Hence, she is definitely going to be an important player in the second game.
