The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2024 is done and dusted as Mumbai defeated a resilient Madhya Pradesh side to clinch the title. MP posted 174/8, courtesy of a brilliant knock from their star man, Rajat Patidar.

In reply, a strong Mumbai team made a mockery of the total and won the contest inside 18 overs to seal the win and the title. Throughout the tournament, there were several stars who emerged and shown brightly for their team.

However, there were 3 players, who stood above the rest and carved a name for themselves in the SMAT 2024. In this article, we'll talk about those 3 players who were unstoppable in the competition.

3) Rajat Patidar

Patidar did a really good carry job of dragging MP to the finals and also playing a lone warriors' knock against the Mumbai team. The RCB star scored 81 off 40 deliveries and single-handedly kept his side alive in the contest.

Throughout the competition, he played some brilliant knocks and was particularly severe on the opposition spin attack. He accumulated 428 runs in 10 matches, and had a astonishing strike-rate of 186.08.

2) Ajinkya Rahane

From being labelled as a Test batter to becoming one of the best in the T20 domestic competition, Ajinkya Rahane has come a long way. Rahane played some iconic knocks in the tournament and was instrumental in the team's win in the semis.

Interestingly, Rahane was the leading run-getter of the tournament, even placed above Patidar. The KKR batter scored 469 runs in 9 matches, with a strike-rate of 164.56. His quick-fire starts at the top in almost all the matches helped Mumbai build the momentum in the batting department.

1) Suryansh Shedge

The newest recruit of the Punjab Kings, Suryansh Shedge showed the world why he is one of the best young talents of India. Coming in at number 7 in the finals, Shedge played the innings of his life as he tonked 36 off 15 balls and sealed the title for Mumbai inside 18 overs.

The breakout star of the tournament played 9 matches and scored 131 runs in the middle order with a mind-boggling strike-rate of 251.92, showcasing his hitting prowess for the team.
