The ninth group-stage fixture of the ongoing Indian Premier League will see the battle between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals. Both teams had contrasting starts to their IPL 2024 campaign. 

While the Royals outclassed Lucknow Super Giants at home, the Capitals were humbled by Punjab Kings in Mullanpur. 

Regarding DC, the Rishabh Pant-led outfit shocked its fans by dropping explosive opener Prithvi Shaw in the first game. However, considering underwhelming performances from Ricky Bhui and Sumit Kumar, they might bring Shaw back to the playing XI for this game. 

If Shaw returns, only one player between Shai Hope and Tristan Stubbs will make it into the playing XI. Although Hope struck a flamboyant 25-ball 33, Stubbs could get the nod ahead of him due to his extraordinary finishing skills. 

Meanwhile, Ishant Sharma, who twisted his ankle in the last game, might miss this fixture, with Mukesh Kumar in line to replace him. Furthermore, the Capitals would like to utilise Abhishek Porel more appropriately, considering his batting exploits against Punjab Kings. 

As per emerging reports, South African speedster Anrich Nortje could also return to DC's playing XI for this game. So, if he makes his IPL comeback, Nortje will spearhead the pace  attack alongside Mukesh and Khaleel, while Kuldeep and Axar will lead the spin department.
