[Watch] Shubman Gill Leaves In Disgust As 'Shoddy' DRS Helps Chahar Bag His 1st Wicket

Promising Indian batter Shubman Gill recorded a rare failure with the bat on Tuesday evening, as Deepak Chahar dismissed him cheaply during Gujarat Titans' second group-stage IPL 2024 game against Chennai Super Kings.

However, the batter looked unconvinced while making his way back to the dugout, with DRS unfolding another controversy in the tournament.

The incident occurred in the third over of GT's innings when they had already got a brisk start, courtesy of the initial flourish from Gill and Wriddhiman Saha.

Chahar, who conceded only seven runs in his first over, started his second on a poor note, with Saha hammering him for two consecutive boundaries.

Upon getting belted on seam-up deliveries, Chahar took the pace off and bowled a leg cutter, which struck Gill on his back pad after he was beaten on an attempted swivel pull.

As soon as the CSK players appealed for an LBW, the on-field umpire declared Gill out without any hesitation.

However, as the ball seemed to have hit him high on the thigh pad, the Punjab batter went upstairs. But unfortunately, the HawkEye predicted three reds, with the TV umpire upholding the on-field decision.

Upon seeing three reds on the big screen, Gill was visibly frustrated, as he expected the ball to go over the stumps.

Nevertheless, after Gill's departure, GT lost his opening partner, Saha, off Chahar's bowling. As of writing, the visitors are in a spot of bother, placed at 43 for two at the end of the powerplay.
