The Rajasthan Royals' (RR) campaign in the upcoming IPL 2024 has hit a snag with the unfortunate news of fast bowler Prasidh Krishna being ruled out due to a recent surgical procedure on his left proximal quadriceps tendon.

This setback marks the second consecutive season Krishna will miss for the Royals, following his absence last year due to a lumbar stress fracture. Despite his recent Test debut and contributions to the Indian cricket team, Krishna's hopes for this IPL season have been dashed by this untimely injury.  The release also informed that Rishabh Pant is fully fit for IPL 2024 and that Gujarat Titans will be missing the services of star pacer, Shami.

"The fast bowler underwent surgery on February 23rd, 2024, on his left proximal quadriceps tendon. He is currently being monitored by the BCCI Medical Team and will resume rehab at the National Cricket Academy soon. He will not be able to take part in the upcoming IPL 2024."

However, the Royals have sought to bolster their bowling lineup by trading in Avesh Khan from the Lucknow Super Giants, providing valuable depth to their Indian fast bowling contingent. Additionally, the squad boasts a diverse array of talent, including the likes of Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, and R Ashwin, among others.

As the IPL draws near, the spotlight now turns to the Royals' probable playing XI for the upcoming season. With a mix of experienced campaigners and promising youngsters, the team will aim to overcome the absence of Krishna and mount a strong challenge for the coveted title.
