According to several reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India is considering launching an IPL-like T20 league for the retired players. Since its inception, the IPL has been the most lucrative league in the world. Being the first of its kind, it inspired the other cricketing bodies to begin their own leagues, eventually promoting the franchise cricket culture.

So, as a result, we get to witness multiple franchise T20 leagues these days, with retired as well as active cricketers gracing them with their presence.

Meanwhile, several former Indian cricketers have requested the BCCI to start a new T20 league for the retired individuals.

If the BCCI seriously implements this, it will be the first official body to conduct a franchise league for the retired players. So, if such a tournament commences, let's see which Indian players could bag lucrative deals.

Robin Uthappa

The former Indian opener is hailed for his nonchalant six-hitting abilities. A glorious stroke-maker, Uthappa is reputed for his scintillating performances for several franchises across the world.

He has played for teams like MI, CSK, RCB and KKR in the IPL and continues to be an asset in T20s even after retirement.

Yusuf Pathan

The explosive batter is known for providing his teams with fitting finishes in white-ball cricket. A hard-hitter of the cricket ball, Yusuf Pathan could be a serious threat to the opposition, particularly in the slog overs. His ability to smack pace and spin will likely make him a player to watch out for.

Yuvraj Singh

Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is a force to reckon with the bat in the middle order. Even several years after his retirement, Yuvraj is an outright match-winner with bat and ball.

Besides scoring quick runs in the middle order, he can chip in with a few overs of left-arm spin bowling. So, considering his all-round attributes, expect Yuvraj to bag a lucrative deal if such a tournament gets underway.

Irfan Pathan

Just like his brother, Irfan Pathan is a top-rated all-rounder in white-ball cricket. He can swing the new ball up front besides providing the finishing touches to his side

He has been active in numerous franchise leagues, showing his calibre and class all around the world.

Given the importance of multi-dimensional players in T20 leagues, Pathan might be one of the hottest buys.

Ambati Rayudu

This name might sound surprising in this list; but, to be honest, Ambati Rayudu's career has been nothing short of legendary in T20 cricket.

He is a six-time IPL champion and played pivotal roles for the two most successful teams, MI and CSK, during his playing days.

He still has age on his side and the firepower in him to deliver. So, considering his aggressive intent, Rayudu might attract several bidders.
