The Champions Trophy 2025 is less than two months away, with Pakistan hosting the prestigious fifty-over event from February 19 to March 9. Ahead of the tournament in Pakistan, teams are sweating hard over players' fitness.
It is worth noting that there are several injured players who are racing against time to get fit. Meanwhile, this article will shed light on three seamers who are likely to be ruled out of the Champions Trophy 2025.
1. Josh Hazlewood
It is worth noting that Josh Hazlewood is recovering from a calf injury. He had a side-strain injury during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy that saw him miss the 2nd Test. Meanwhile, Hazlewood returned for the 3rd Test but missed the last two matches because of a calf injury.
Josh is not also a part of the upcoming tour against Sri Lanka, and the selectors are fearing losing out on him for the Champions Trophy 2025.
2. Jasprit Bumrah
Another name is Jasprit Bumrah. The right-arm seamer and arguably the best bowler in current times suffered a back spasm during the last Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and missed the last two days of play because of his injury.
At present, the extent of the injury isn't revealed, but there are reports that Bumrah is all set to consult a top-ortho for his issue. Thus, the MI star is likely to miss the upcoming England series at home and the Champions Trophy 2025.
3. Mohammed Shami
Another India star, who is facing a race against time to get fit in time for the Champions Trophy 2025. Shami, who hasn't played a single ODI since the 2023 World Cup final, is currently challenging his fitness at domestic events.
Shami developed a knee swelling a month or two months ago and is now awaiting a green light from the NCA doctors.
