Multan Sultans crushed Karachi Kings by 55 runs at the Multan Cricket Stadium to launch their PSL 2024 campaign off to a winning note. Mohammad Rizwan and co. will now face Islamabad United in their subsequent match of the tournament on February 20.

Ahead of the much-awaited clash between the two sides, here at OneCricket, we take a look at a probable playing XI of the Multan Sultans franchise.

Multan Sultans probable XI for PSL 2024 clash vs United

Multan Sultans team management will likely field the same playing XI against Islamabad United that pulverised the Karachi Kings by 55 runs in their opening match of the tournament. Captain Mohammad Rizwan will continue to open the innings with English import Dawid Malan, considering the elegant left-hander belted a fluent 52 a couple of days ago at the same venue.

Reeza Hendricks flogged the Karachi Kings bowlers with a scintillating 79*, and was also adjudged as ‘Player of the Match’ for his efforts. Khushdil Shah and senior man Iftikhar Ahmed will serve as Sultans’ middle-order options, with both providing the additional benefits with their part-time spin.

Yasir Khan can stabilise the middle overs while vice-captain and fast-bowling all-rounder David Willey is more than capable of smacking a few at the death. Willey, who picked up two key wickets against Karachi Kings, will continue to share the new-ball with fellow speedster Mohammad Ali. Shahnawaz Dahani and Abbas Afridi to constitute the remainder of Sultans’ pace attack. Usama Mir, meanwhile, will helm his team’s spin department.
