Quetta Gladiators slumped to successive defeats against Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi this PSL 2024 season in their past two games.

Despite having secured four wins out of their first five fixtures, their latest setbacks in Rawalpindi ensured that Rilee Rossouw and co. slipped to number four on the PSL 2024 points table.

The Gladiators will now face cellar-dwellers Lahore Qalandars in their penultimate league match of the competition. Ahead of their much-awaited faceoff, here is a look at the probable playing XI of the Quetta Gladiators franchise.

Mohammad Amir’s form has emerged as a primary concern for the Quetta Gladiators franchise this PSL 2024 season. The experienced fast bowler has managed to claim just five wickets in six innings at an expensive average of 39.2 and a burgeoning economy rate of nearly nine.

Despite his underwhelming returns, Quetta Gladiators skipper Rilee Rossouw might well retain Mohammad Amir into the playing XI for their match against Lahore Qalandars, owing to the speedster’s sublime run in last month’s ILT20 2024 season in UAE.

Rossouw will continue to bat at number three, with Jason Roy and Saud Shakeel opening the innings. Khawaja Nafay, Omair Yousuf and wicketkeeper-batsman Laurie Evans will constitute the team’s middle-order, while spin bowling all-rounder Akeal Hosein can provide lusty hits in the slog overs.

Fast bowlers Sohail Khan, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Hasnain will be expected to bowl in the powerplay. Leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed will likely continue to provide support to overseas spinner Akeal Hosein.
