The first-ever auction of the ILT20 turned out to be an interesting one with some big names going unsold. Ravichandran Ashwin, a former Indian bowler and the one with the highest base price, did not find any buyer, while many other star Pakistan players also went unsold.

The non-selection of many Pakistan players was quite surprising as many of them have done well in ILT20 in past, while others are quality international cricketers. Thus, in this article, we will look at the three Pakistan players who deserved to be selected in the ILT20 auction.

Mohammad Amir

Mohammad Amir has retired from international cricket, but he is still just 33 years old and is doing well across cricketing leagues around the world. He recently played in CPL 2025 and picked 11 wickets in seven matches, showing the world that he is still a reliable asset.

Also, he has all the skills that a pacer requires in the shortest format of the game. The left-arm bowler can swing the new ball, and with the old ball, he can nail yorkers as well as outfox the batters with his variations. He has also done well for Desert Vipers in the last two seasons and could have been a valuable asset for any team with his experience and skills.

Saim Ayub

Saim Ayub, the young Pakistan batter, had a poor Asia Cup 2025. However, he remains a quality batter who has done well in CPL and PSL and has also shown glimpses of his talent at the international level.

He can be destructive with the bat when he is on song and has an overall strike-rate of 140.10 in T20s. Also, he can contribute with his off-breaks regularly, which he showed in the Asia Cup, and thus could have been a good T20 package for ILT20 teams. He is also a young player who can serve a franchise for a long time, and thus, he deserved to get a buyer in the ILT20 2025-26 auction.

Mohammad Nawaz

The Pakistan all-rounder has been doing well in T20 cricket for a long time now. He can bat anywhere in the batting order, like he showed in the Asia Cup 2025, and can be handy with the ball, especially in the spin-friendly conditions of the UAE.

Thus, he could have been a good addition for any franchise with his experience and all-round skills. His current form has also been good as he helped Pakistan win the tri-series in the UAE and also played a big role in them getting into the final of the Asia Cup 2025.

Thus, Mohammad Nawaz is another Pakistan player who deserved to get a buyer in the ILT20 auction 2025-26.
