Chasing 155 runs against MI New York, Steve Smith stamped his authority with 46 off 28 runs knock, and before rain halted the game, Washington had 55 runs on board at the loss of one wicket. They were four runs ahead as per DLS calculations and were awarded two points for the game.

Washington Freedom have potentially the most fierce and balanced unit at their helm this tournament. Travis Head and Smith are in the form of their lives whereas Glenn Maxwell, Marco Jansen and Saurabh Netravalkar have also raised the standards.
