Meanwhile, Salem Spartans finally got some points on the board after beating Dragons by seven wickets in the previous encounter.

Sunny Sandhu and Harish Kumar bowled fabulously to restrict the Dragons to a below-par total of 140 runs in the first innings. 

Moreover, Spartans batted sensibly in the chase, with Rajendran Vivek scoring a half-century to wrap up the game inside 18.1 overs. 

The Spartans finally came together as a team after losing the tournament opener to Madurai. However, the tournament is still long, and Salem needs to keep up with the momentum to ensure a deep run to the playoffs.
