For the first game of the blockbuster Wednesday doubleheader, Colombo Strikers and Jaffna Kings will be pitted against each other in the 13th fixture of the Lanka Premier League 2024 season.

The high-voltage game will commence at 3.00 PM IST at Rangiri International Stadium in Dambulla.

Jaffna Kings, on the other hand, suffered their second defeat of the tournament earlier today against Kandy Falcons in what turned out to be a run-fest at Dambulla Stadium.

Owing to Pathum Nissanka's scintillating century and Rilee Rossouw's fiery 18 ball 41 run finish, Kings posted 224 runs mammoth total on the board.

However, the Falcons came out all guns blazing in a fitting response. Dinesh Chandimal went berserk with 89 (37) before Kamindu Mendis fed on the momentum with 36 ball 65 runs innings. Angelo Matthews also played a 29 (13) finishing knock as the Falcons completed the chase with ten balls to spare.

Needless to say, it turned out to be a gut-wrenching loss for Jaffna Kings. They have no time to sulk and must regroup to face yet another formidable side in Colombo Strikers at the same venue tomorrow afternoon.
