Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, and Joe Root retained their place in the top 4. Meanwhile, Harry Brook has returned to the side after an indefinite break. He opted out of the five-game Test series against India and the IPL 2024 season as well citing personal reasons.

Jonny Bairstow will miss the Lord's Test as Jamie Smith has been announced as the wicket-keeper.

Moreover, England has decided to go with three pacers and one spinner. James Anderson, Chris Woakes, and Gus Atkinson made the cut as three full-time fast bowlers, whereas Shoaib Bashir will be the only spinner playing for England at Lords.

Overall, the English side looks balanced. With Anderson's farewell at stake, Stokes and company are expected to put their best foot forward and bid goodbye to the legend in style with happy memories.
