Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals will clash against each other for the second time in as many weeks in the ongoing 18th season of the Indian Premier League. While RCB are yet to win at home this year, RR are yet to win a match since the last two weeks.
Since Rajasthan’s return to the IPL after a two-year ban in 2018, the rivalry between these two teams has mostly resulted in the same team winning all matches throughout a season. Going by that logic, Bengaluru would be confident of finally winning in front of their home fans.
The visitors, on the other hand, would be desperate to change that trend to ensure that the opposition’s terrible recent record at home remains intact. Other than the result of the match, fans will be in store to witness players breaking the following records:
2,000 Runs In The IPL
Royals opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal needs 86 runs to complete 2,000 runs in the IPL. Since his debut in 2020, the left-handed batter has scored 1,914 runs at an average and strike rate of 33 and 148.71 respectively.
With his team in need of someone to stand tall at a crucial juncture, Jaiswal would be looking to score these many runs in a statement innings on Thursday especially in the absence of captain Sanju Samson.
100 Fours In The IPL
Unable to replicate his IPL 2024 form till now, RR stand-in captain Riyan Parag requires two fours to complete 100 fours in the IPL. Having scored 98 fours and 74 sixes across 66 innings, the right-handed batter is highly likely to achieve this milestone in his first T20 innings at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
50 Sixes In The IPL
RCB opening batter Phil Salt requires three maximums to reach to 50 sixes in his IPL career. Currently into his third IPL season, Salt has hit as many as 47 sixes across 29 innings. Since his debut, only two overseas opening batters in Faf du Plessis (62) and Sunil Narine (45) have hit more sixes than him.
50 Fours In The IPL
Royal Challengers batter Tim David needs a solitary four to complete 50 fours in the cash-rich league. Having already completed 50 sixes this season, the right-handed batter would be confident of hitting at least one boundary in his next outing.
50 Wickets In The IPL
RCB pacer Josh Hazlewood needs to dismiss three more batters to complete 50 wickets in the IPL. In what has the potential to become his career-best IPL season, the Aussies speedster has picked 12 wickets at an average and strike rate of 20.16 and 14.4 respectively.
On the other hand, Rajasthan pacer Tushar Deshpande is also short of two wickets to register 50 IPL wickets. In IPL seasons where he has played over five matches, his IPL 2025 average, economy rate and strike rate are the worst. In such a situation, he would be eager to achieve any possible milestone coming his way.
50 Catches In The IPL
Two more catches will power Bengaluru all-rounder Krunal Pandya to 50 catches in the IPL. Playing his 10th season of the tournament, the 34-year-old player has grabbed 48 catches across 135 matches.
