In the latest development, the Australian keeper-batter, Josh Inglis has been ruled out of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. He has been diagnoses with a claf strain which he developed during the second day of the MCG Test, when he came up out as a substitue fielder.

Although the injury is reported to be not too series and he is expected to be back in action before the IPL 2025, there is no guarantees when it comes to injury. So, if the Australian keeper-batter is not able to play in the next edition of the tournament, here are three players whom PBKS might consider as a replacement for the player.

Josh Philippe is a top-order wicket-keeper batter from Australia. The man is known for his aggressive batting at the top of the order and his wicketkeeping skills. Notably, Ricky Ponting will be playing the role of head coach for the Punjab Kings in the next season. The former Australian superstar has alwayas reated Josh Philippe high and hence there are chances that he might induce the management to bring the Australian as a replacement for Inglis.

Notably, Philippe has played 116 T20 matches in his career. In his career, Philippe has scored 2,710 runs in these games at an average of 26.05 and a strike rate of 134.09.

The English wicketkeeper is known for his impact as a top order batter. Jonny Bairstow can take the attack to the opposition very early in the innings and seize the momentum for his team. Although, he has not been in the best of forms recently, his ability to effect the game as a top order batter will keep the Punjab Kings interested.

Given the impact of Bairstow and the fact that he has played for the franchise before, the might look to bring him in as a replacement.

Attacking the bowler comes naturally this left-handed English opening batter and hence he could be a very valuable induction into the side. Ben Duckett can also keep wickets and that would solve that problem for the Kings.
