Playing on Australian soil and scoring a century is not an easy thing but Nitish Kumar Reddy broke the myth. As the Melbourne Cricket Ground is hosting the thrilling Boxing Day Test, the Indian side faced some early setbacks. Captain Rohit Sharma and Kl Rahul were dismissed early. Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal maintained a crucial partnership but after the duo was dismissed, Team India lost consecutive wickets.

Coming to bat at the number 8 position, Nitish Kumar Reddy made an impactful partnership with Washington Sundar. After Sundar’s dismissal in 50 runs, Reedy kept the momentum going and scored a century and registered his first-ever Test ton. Depending on the mighty knock, Team India posted a total of 369 runs in the first innings.
