On Thursday, April 10, Chennai Super Kings dealt a heavy blow as their regular captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad, was ruled out of IPL 2025 following an elbow fracture. Meanwhile, a section of fans were also delighted as MS Dhoni was named the captain for remainder of the season. 

Under Gaikwad, CSK started off miserably as they registered just a solitary win in the ongoing season in five matches. CSK were under heavy criticism as fans accused the players of lacking intent and the Men in Yellow looked a pale shadow of their past versions.

1. More Utilisation Of Spinners

MS Dhoni, who is one of the most successful captains in the league's history, is known to be a spinner's captain. Dhoni loves to utilise his spinners, and this is something that lacked under Gaikwad's leadership. 

Notably, CSK have bowled 100 overs in the tournament so far, and 48 have been bowled by spinners. Further, there hasn't been a single game where Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, and Noor Ahmed have bowled full quota in a single match.
