Afghanistan's newest sensation, Allah Ghazanfar announced his arrival in style as he decimated the Bangladesh batters with a clinical 6-wicket haul as the home side clinched the first ODI from the jaws of defeat.
The right-arm off break bowler came up as a mystery for the Bangladesh batting lineup as they crumbled from a winning position. Chasing 236, Bangladesh at one stage were 120/3. However, the new mystery bowler ran through the middle order as the Tigers bundled out for 143.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) aucton is coming up and Allah Ghazanfar has given a perfect audtion ahead of the auction. There are a couple of IPL sides which need a quality spin bowler, but where will he perfectly fit in?
3) Chennai Super Kings
The pitch at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium favours the spinners and Chennai Super kings loves having quality spin-bowling options in their arsenal. They already have Ravindra Jadeja in the squad, and previously they had Sri Lanka's Maheesh Theekshana.
CSK have 55 crores remaining in their purse and they generally believe in creating superstars. Hence, they can save the 55 crore on filling up the other important places and should be smart enough to buy Allah Ghazanfar as he won't be too expensive. CSK have a soft corner for mystery spinners and the Afghan bowler will thrive their.
2) Mumbai Indians
It has been ages since Mumbai have had a quality spin-bowling option. Ever since Rahul Chahar departed, they have failed to replace him. While their batting is ever so strong with the likes of Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav, the one area where MI would love to invest is their spin department.
The Afghan spinner is still a mystery for everyone and his variations can cause a lot of trouble to the opposition. MI is another IPL team who believe in creating stars, and they could do the same with Allah Ghazanfar by buying him for a decent price and turning him into a world beater.
1) Gujarat Titans
GT have a liking for Afghan players, as they had plethora of them in the squad. The likes of Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad, Azmatullah Omarzai, all have played for Gujarat, and don't be surprised if the 2022 IPL winning side purchase him for a relatively decent amount.
Plus, under the guidance of Rashid, Allah Ghazanfar will learn a lot as he will play alongside some of the best spinners in the world.
Conclusion
RCB will also be in contention, but the team has a history of buying superstars rather than creating ones. The best place for Ghazanfar will either be CSK, under the leadership of MS Dhoni or Gujarat Titans, where he can play cricket with his national teammates and will learn the art of spin alongside them.
