Mukesh Kumar is having a dream run in the ongoing series against Australia A. After a 6-wicket haul in the first Test, he continued his dream run with another brilliant spell in the second Test match at MCG.

After India got bundled out for a paltry 161 on the morning of Day 1, the home side had the upper hand heading into the dugout. India needed an inspiring spell at the top and Mukesh Kumar provided just that. With the ball doing enough, the Indian bowler took care of the business and bowled a brilliant inswinger to dismiss David Warner's long-term Test replacement, Nathan McSweeney.

Mukesh bowled a good length ball outside the off and it nipped away slightly to take the outside-edge of the bat. McSweeney poked at the ball and the edge was safely taken by KL Rahul in the slips. The Aussie opener is in line to make his debut against India in the first BGT Test, but failed to deliver the goods against India A.

Indian batters' flop show on Day 1

Just like the first Test, the Indian batters produced a flop show at MCG as well. None of their star batters performed as Australian bowlers ran riot.

The likes of KL Rahul, and Ruturaj Gaikwad, the senior players scored just 4 runs each as the team lost 4 wickets for 11 runs. However, Dhruv Jurel, the keeper-batter auditioned for a Test spot with a brilliantly carved 80.

He took India out of a precarious situation, but didn't got any support from the other end as India could only post 161.
