Day 1 of the IPL 2025 mega auction ended and the teams have started to shape well ahead of the next season. The auction process will continue on Monday as well, as the remaining purse will be spend to purchase the available slots.
On Sunday, some of the teams did an excellent job in creating a strong side. However, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) left their fans disappointed as they didn't target big players and went after players who were not needed in their squad. However, Day 2 will bring a different dynamics and RCB will look to strengthen a couple of areas ahead of the next season.
Hence, we look at 3 players RCB will likely target on Day 2 of the auction.
3) Will Jacks
Why RCB will target Jacks?
- An explosive player and is multi-dimensional. He can bat, and can also chip in with spin bowling which will be useful in the IPL.
- Knows the setup inside out, since he was a part of the franchise last season and did an excellent job. Also, his batting prowess will be useful at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
2) Sam Curran
Why RCB will go after Curran?
- The team is looking for a captain and Sam Curran could be a smart choice for the same. He previously led Punjab Kings in the IPL and could be the steal of the auction as well.
- He can be used in different phases of the game. Curran can open the bowling, can also bowl at the death, and could be used as a floater with the bat.
1) Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Why going after Bhuvneshwar will be a steal deal
- He is not getting any younger, and as a result could be bought for a cheap price. If RCB play smart, they could buy Bhuvneshwar for 4-6 crore in the auction. At such a price, they'll be getting a quality bowler.
- Death bowling issues will be solved. Bhuvneshwar is brilliant in the slog overs and with his pinpoint yorkers he can trouble the best in the business. If RCB get him, they can utilise Hazlewood at the top and can use Bhuvi in the middle and slog overs.
