Dwayne Bravo, one of the legends in the T20 format, recently announced his retirement from cricket. He made his last appearance for the Trinbago Knight Riders in CPL 2024.

Bravo, a master of all trades, was renowned for his versatility. His prowess as a bowler, particularly in the nail-biting death phases, and his proficiency as a batter in the lower middle order set him apart. The Trinidadian cricketer's name is synonymous with numerous remarkable comebacks for the teams he graced.

In the Indian Premier League, Dwayne Bravo actively played for the Mumbai Indians from 2008-2010. In 2011, Chennai Super Kings picked him up in the mega-auction. After this, he was part of the team until 2016, before the team was banned for a couple of years. On CSK's return to the league, Bravo was repurchased, and he played an active part in the team's title-winning runs in 2018 and 2021.

Bravo has been with CSK as a bowling coach for the last couple of seasons. It was expected that after his retirement, Bravo would remain a coach with the team. However, in a surprising move, the Knight Riders snapped up Bravo and appointed him their global mentor.

With the mega auction for IPL 2025 approaching, Dwayne Bravo is expected to target a few CSK players to join the KKR team.

3. Shardul Thakur

The Indian pacer was a part of the KKR ahead of IPL 2024. However, he was released ahead of the last edition. But with Dwayne Bravo joining KKR as a mentor, he might look to bring in Shardul Thakur. The Indian bowler can learn to use cutters and speed variations better under Bravo and emerge as a more effective bowler for KKR. Besides having already played for KKR, Thakur will have an idea about the dressing culture and how the team operates.

2. Rajvardhan Hangargekar

The young Indian pacer joined the CSK team in IPL 2022. Although he was a part of the team for three years, Rajvardhan Hangargekar played only two matches. Hangargekar has the pace and is a very handy batter lower the order. Bravo might try and bring Hangardekar under his wing and groom him for the future.

1. Mustafizur Rahman

The Bangladeshi pacer emerged as one of the main cogs of the CSK bowling in IPL 2024. Given the current retention rule, CSK might have to release Mustafizur Rahman ahead of the next season. Dwayne Bravo might try to target Rahman for KKR as their bowling styles are quite similar, and by working with him, Bravo can develop a great death-over weapon for KKR. Having already worked with Fizz at CSK, Bravo will have an idea about where and how he can fit the Bangladeshi bowler in and plan accordingly.
