Mominul Haque, the former Bangladesh skipper, has smashed a brilliant century on Day 4 of the second Test match against India in Kanpur. It is his 13th Test ton, and all of them have been in the subcontinent, which shows how good he is in these conditions. He scored his hundred off 172 balls and got to the landmark with a lovely sweep shot against Ravichandran Ashwin. It was also just his second century outside Bangladesh and the southpaw has made sure that India do not run through the Tigers' batting line-up in the morning session.

Mominul looked solid right throughout the innings. He started Day 4 on a score of 40 and kept the scoreboard ticking with timely boundaries. Bangladesh kept losing wickets at the other end, but Mominul still batted positively, making his knock even special. He hit sixteen fours and a six in his knock and beautifully used his feet against spinners. He also created a unique record by becoming the visiting batter with the lowest average before scoring his maiden Test century in India.

Virat Kohli Drops A Tough Catch Of Mominul Haque

India did get one half-chance to get rid of the left-hander when he was batting on 93, but Virat Kohli failed to hold onto a catch, and at Lunch on Day 4,  Bangladesh ended with a score of 206-6. India managed to grab three wickets in the session and would be hoping to knock down Mominul early in the afternoon session to bundle out Bangladesh as early as possible.

It has been a game where rain updates have dominated the proceedings, and only 35 overs were possible before the start of Day 4. So, dishing out a result from this game is still very difficult, but India are trying hard and as of now, Mominul Haque is the first hurdle India need to overcome in the second session.
