Islamabad United got their newfound PSL 2024 winning run hampered by defending champions Lahore Qalandars in match number 23 of the competition.

They will now face Karachi Kings for their subsequent PSL 2024 challenge at the Rawalpindi Stadium on March 7 in their penultimate league game of the tournament.

Ahead of the impending faceoff between the two sides, here is a look at the probable playing XI of the Islamabad United team.

Islamabad United Probable XI vs Karachi Kings

Islamabad United, currently placed at number four on the PSL 2024 points table, will face Karachi Kings in a must-win game towards the closing stages of the tournament.

The significance of the match might prompt captain Shadab Khan to drop struggling all-rounder Imad Wasim from the playing XI to make way for young Qasim Akram.

Wasim has so far managed to tally just 14 runs from five PSL 2024 innings at a dismal average of 2.80, and has secured just three wickets across each of his seven bowling outings combined this season.

Shadab might very well retain the rest of his playing group, with overseas stars Colin Munro and Alex Hales opening the innings for the franchise.

The captain himself will continue to helm the team’s middle-order alongside the likes of Agha Salman, Jordan Cox and newcomer spin-bowling all-rounder Qasim Akram.

Belligerent wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan, meanwhile, can slog a few in the death overs as evidenced by his recent exploits.

Fast bowlers Faheen Ashraf and Naseem Shah blasted majestic cameos for their side against Lahore Qalandars, all while making expected contributions with the ball.

Rumman Raees and Hunain Shah also got the new-ball swinging at the top against Qalandars and will continue to bowl the key powerplay overs alongside Naseem.
