December 13 marks eight years since India's white-ball talisman Rohit Sharma slammed his 3rd ODI double hundred. On this day, the hitman slammed an unbeaten 208 against Sri Lanka in Mohali.

Since Rohit's tally, no other player has managed to score more than one double hundred in their career. Further, it has been nearly two years since the last double ton in ODIs. For the unversed, Pathum Nissanka was the previous star to reach double figures back in February 2024.

This article will shed light on five possible batters who could be the next to breach the 200 mark in ODIs.

There is no parameter to judge whether a player is certain to have a double hundred in his career, but several statistical measures, such as 100+ strike-rate, 40+ average (consistency), and conversion rate. Thus, this article will look at five cricketers who fit the bill and who have a high probability among the rest to score a double hundred.

1. Travis Head

Travis Head is one of the most explosive batters in the world, who continues his dominance across formats. Even in ODIs, the southpaw bats in his own style, which is all guns blazing from the start.

Besides a high-scoring rate, Head is also consistent and has a great conversion rate. Talking about his stats, the southpaw has played 76 innings and amassed 3007 runs.

He boasts an average of 43.57 and a strike-rate of 105.8. His illustrious career features seven centuries and 17 fifty-plus scores, highlighting his impressive conversion rate.

Head has a conversion rate of 30, and his highest score in ODIs is an unbeaten 154, which isn't far away from a double-hundred.
