Glenn Maxwell To Be Dropped Again? Here's RCB's Probable XI For IPL 2024 Match Vs PBKS

High-flying Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Thursday (May 9) in Match 58 of IPL 2024 at HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala. The Faf du Plessis-led side, who suffered six losses on the trot, registered back-to-back thumping victories before coming to this fixture, both against Gujarat Titans.

The RCB seemed much-more settled side in their previous two fixtures, despite not including any foreigner among their designated bowlers. They brought in Glenn Maxwell, Will Jacks, and Cam Green along with skipper Faf du Plessis, making no room for the likes of Lockie Ferguson, Alzarri Joseph, and Reece Topley among others.

While many of them have found their form, Maxwell, one of the regulars at RCB for sometime, has been performing miserably with the bat. The swashbuckling Australian all-rounder has only tallied 36 runs across eight innings, with an average reading 5.14. No wonder he is having a disastrous run, which forced him to take a break in the middle of the competition earlier.

Will du Plessis give Maxwell a break again? Surely not. After a titanic struggle, they have finally found the mojo they were looking for. Hence, even though Maxwell has been drastically under-performing, he can't be dropped at this point.

That means RCB, in all likelihood, will keep the same playing XI when they go up against Punjab Kings in Dharamsala.
