After a gruelling ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, India and Australia will clash in a high-anticipated five-match T20I series, which will kick off preparations for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup next year.

The first T20I will be played at Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy Stadium in Visakhapatnam tomorrow (November 23) between a young Indian side led by Suryakumar Yadav and a well-oiled Australian XI captained by Matthew Wade.

Team India has undergone a massive overhaul and will see players from the Asian Games 2022 gold medal-winning side being rewarded for their hard work, with several seniors being rested for the upcoming tour of South Africa.

Meanwhile, the Australian side will look to fine-tune their side, who were T20 World Champions until November 2022, and provide precious game-time to players who have warmed the bench for a while.

Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy Cricket Stadium Ground Stats

The first-ever T20I hosted at Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy Cricket Stadium was back in 2016, and since then, the venue has seen a total of three matches take place. The first T20I here was played between India and Sri Lanka, while the last 20-over match was played between India and South Africa in 2022.

The stadium is known for witnessing chases where teams batting second have won two times and first only once. The track generally gets easier to bat in the second half of the game, with dew coming in full effect.
