The cricketing discussions in India are all centred around the upcoming Asia Cup 2025. Which player will make the cut, whom will the management ignore? The fans are engaged in deep discussions regarding the India squad for the Asia Cup 2025.

It is expected that BCCI will be announcing the squad for the much-awaited tournament tomorrow, August 19. In this article, we take a look at the best bowling attack that might board the plane to the UAE. Here, we will just be concentrating on pure bowlers.

1. Jasprit Bumrah

There have been intense discussions regarding the workload management of arguably the best pacer in the world, Jasprit Bumrah, in recent times. Notably, the ace pacer played three of the five Test matches in England for the same reason and sparked the debate as to whether he would be a part of the Asia Cup 2025 squad.

As of now, Bumrah has reportedly stated that he is available for selection in the Asia Cup. If the management is getting the option to strengthen the bowling attack with the presence of Bumrah, then there is no doubt about him making the cut.

2. Arshdeep Singh

The left-arm pacer has emerged as an essential presence in the Indian bowling attack, especially in the limited overs. From his initial days, Arshdeep Singh has demonstrated great death over skills. However, in recent times, he has also developed the expertise to be equally efficient in the initial stages of a game.

In the latest edition of the IPL, Arshdeep showed great form, picking up 21 wickets in 17 matches, while having an economy of 8.88 and an average of 24.67. Given the form he his carrying, the left-arm pacer angle and his utility in almost all the phases of a T20 game, Arshdeep will most likely be the second pacer in the squad.

3. Kuldeep Yadav

The left-arm wrist spinner is expected to be the prime spinner for the Indian team in the tournament. Kuldeep Yadav's variation adds depth, dynamism and flexibility to the attack. Besides, he is a very efficient bowler for the middle phase, who has not only mastered the art of containing runs during the phase but has also emerged as a wicket-taker.

In IPL 2025, Kuldeep played 14 matches and picked up 15 wickets. The strike rate does not seem great, but when we add the fact that he conceded runs at just a rate of 7.08 runs per over, then we can comprehend his importance.

4. Varun Chakaravarthy

The revival of his international career has been dramatic for India's mystery spinner. In his last few T20I appearances, he has proven his worth and importance as a key cog in the middle overs.

Besides, Varun's IPL 2025 form was also brilliant, strengthening his case to be a part of the Asia Cup 2025 squad. Notably, during the tournament, Chakaravarthy picked up 17 wickets in 13 matches while having an economy of just 7.66. Thus, he is the best candidate to be India's second spinner in the squad.

5. Prasidh Krishna or Harshit Rana?

The management will be in a dilemma when it comes to the last spot in the bowling department. The fight comes down to Prasidh Krishna and Harshit Rana.

While Harshit Rana has great potential and talent, in terms of recent form, the logical choice seems to be Prasidh Krishna. In IPL 2025, Krishna was the highest wicket-taker, scalping 25 preys in 15 matches while having a decent economy of 8.27. On the other hand, Harshit Rana managed to pick up only 15 wickets in 13 matches and also had a much higher economy rate of 10.18.

Besides, Krishna has shown the ability to be effective in all the stages of a game, while Rana has been more of a new-ball bowler so far. There is no doubt that Rana is one of the brightest prospects for India's pace bowling future, but for the Asia Cup 2025 and T20 World Cup 2026, the best candidate is Prasidh Krishna.
