While everyone expected Sri Lanka to be whitewashed in the ODI series against India, the Charith Asalanka led side have quietly gone about their business to perfection.

Sri Lanka's journey in the series so far

They took India to the limits in the first ODI, forcing a tied game, and then defeated them in the second ODI to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Interestingly, for the last 27-years, Sri Lanka have not won a series against India, so the final game provides a great chance to achieve that as well.

While there hasn't been a significant score from their batters in the first two matches, everyone has chipped in bits and pieces to propel the Lankan batting lineup. In the first game, it was Pathum Nissanka and the unlikely hero, Dunith Wellalage, who had crucial contributions with the bat.

In the second match, it was Kamindu Mendis and Wellalage once again, as the Indian bowlers struggled to take wickets in the middle-overs.

The bowling looks top-notch, with the R Premadasa surface helping the Sri Lankan spinners. The home team brought in Jeffrey Vandersay, in place of Wanindu Hasaranga for the second ODI, and he too, chipped in with wickets, picking up a 6-wicket haul.

As a result, the Lankan side are not expected to make any changes and go with the same playing XI.
