India and South Africa are all set to lock horns against each other in the four-match T20I series. The series will be played in the rainbow nation and with the finalists of the World Cup going head-to-head, it promises to be a cracking series. South Africa have their big guns like David Miller, Heinrich Klaasen back for this series while India have a young side that is high on confidence after whitewashing India in their last T20I series.

So, there will be plenty of exciting players on display and let's see who could be the three players to watch out in the upcoming T20I series.

Abhishek Sharma

The talented left-handed batter smashed a brilliant century in his debut international series against Zimbabwe. However, he could not convert his starts against Bangladesh, and now would be itching to make a mark in this series. The team management is expected to back him for all four games, and if Abhishek Sharma unleashes his full potential, he can produce some breathtaking stuff with his ultra-aggressive approach.

Abhishek Sharma also played some impactful knocks in the recently held Emerging Asia Cup, and apart from that Bangladesh series, the batter has been in good touch from the last year or so. So, he is surely a player to watch out on the South African pitches that are generally good for batting in white-ball formats.

Heinrich Klaasen

The wicketkeeper batter is one of the most dangerous batters in world cricket currently. He has taken apart best of the bowling attacks in the world during the last couple of years, and his last international match was also against India. It was the famous final of the T20 World Cup 2024 and Klaasen almost took the game away from India with his stunning 52 off 27 balls.

He is a brilliant player of spin and that makes him a very hard player to stop in the middle overs. So, expect him to make an impact in this series too.

Tilak Varma

Tilak Varma has been out of Indian team for sometime now and many other players have gone ahead in the pecking order. He remains one of the most talent young cricketers in the country though and has superb temperament and skills. The South Africa series is an opportunity for him to show his mettle as he is expected to get consistent chances at number 4.

He has done well in Indian colours in the past too, so he should take confidence from that and start afresh in this four-match T20I series against mighty Proteas. Also, the number 4 position is perfect for him as it will give him some time to settle down and it would be interesting how he goes about his business.
