Pakistan pacer, Aamir Jamal came under scrutiny when it was found out that he, alongside several other players in the side violated the rules and regulations set by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The promising pacer was slapped with a hefty fine of PKR 1.4 million and here is the real reason for it.

Why Was Jamal not included in Champions Trophy squad?

Apparently, the reason for this huge fine was the number '804' which was written by him on his Test cap and it relates to former Pakistan cricketer, Imran Khan, who is now behind the bars. As per a report by Samaa TV, a large group of Pakistan players were fined by the PCB for violating the rules and Jamal was the one who was given the strictest punishment.

He was fined for writing 804 as it is believed to be the badge number of Imran Khan, who is in jail and Jamal wanted to show solidarity with him. This was one of the main reason why Jamal was also not included in the Champions Trophy squad as the board felt that Politics doesn't have a place in the field of Cricket.

Saim Ayub and other also given hefty fine

Meanwhile, the likes of Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha and Abdullah Shafique were handed a fine of PKR 5,00,000 for coming late night during the Pakistan tour of Australia, last year. Also, the likes of Sufiyan Muqeem, Abbas Afridi and Usman Khan were fined 200 dollars each for returning late during the South Africa tour, which concluded earlier this year.
