The India squad for the white-ball series against Sri Lanka is finally out. The team had no real surprises as the core of the T20 World Cup and the 50-over World Cup (of last year) remains the same.

The only surprise has been the appointment of Suryakumar Yadav as the T20I captain ahead of front-runner, Hardik Pandya. Apart from that, Shubman Gill has been named his deputy in T20Is, which, for everyone is a surprising, but a welcome move.

The T20I series will begin from July 27, and will be the first assignment for Suryakumar as India's full-time captain. With a squad full of superstars, we take a look at 3 Indian players to watch out for ahead of the blockbuster clash Vs Sri Lanka.

3 Indian Players To Watch Out For Vs SL

Suryakumar Yadav

The new T20I leader of the Indian team will have a tough task in his hands. Beating Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka is not an easy challenge, and SKY's leadership will be thoroughly tested against the Lankan Lions.

Moreover, it will be interesting to see if the captaincy burden is taking a toll on his bating or not. However, knowing how fearlessly SKY bats in the game's shortest format, expect Surya to rise and showcase once again to the world that he is the Number 1 batter in this format.

Shubman Gill

Everyone will have their eyes set on the new T20I vice-captain. However, more than his new role, the eyes will be set on his batting approach. T20 cricket has evolved and Gill's batting in the T20I series against Zimbabwe wasn't pleasing to the eyes. With Yashasvi Jaiswal and Abhishek Sharma, the two aggressive openers, time is running out for Gill to prove his mettle in T20Is.

Rishabh Pant

Pant has garnered criticism for his batting in T20Is. While he is an exceptional T20 player in the Indian Premier League, the same hasn't been reflected in his international batting. The Indian team management tried him at number 3 in the T20 World Cup, and it was a hit-and-miss kind of tournament for the Indian superstar.

With Sanju Samson knocking the doors, Pant needs to up the ante in the upcoming Sri Lanka series, wherein he'll surely start as the first-choice wicket-keeper.
