Not everything is going right for the Indian all-rounder, Hardik Pandya. The 30-year-old cricketer was snubbed for India's T20I captaincy role, a position for which he was the front-runner.

Instead, the selectors sprung a surprise and appointed Suryakumar Yadav to lead India in the game's shortest format. Moreover, Hardik also announced his separation with Natasa Stankovic, a decision which sent shockwaves.

Now if the latest reports are to be believed, then Hardik could also be in danger of losing the Mumbai Indians captaincy position as well. He replaced Rohit Sharma as the new leader of the Mumbai based franchise, a decision which created controversy amongst the fans.

Reports state that Hardik's appointment last season created a negative environment within the team and it affected their performance in IPL 2024. Mumbai Indians finished at the last position in the points table and Hardik faced a lot of backlash for it.

The appointment of SKY as the new T20I captain is also one of the major factors for the MI leadership role. Suryakumar has the backing of Rohit Sharma, and as a result, MI could be tempted to make him their new captain, at the expense of Hardik.

The decision is internally discussed at the moment, and is the one to look forward to.
