Chennai Super Kings purchased an uncapped all-round cricketer from Haryana, Anshul Kamboj, at a whopping price of INR 3.4 crore at the IPL 2025 mega auction. Kamboj, who scripted history by snapping up a 10-wicket haul recently in Ranji Trophy, gets a major boost in his salary this year.
The mega auction of the IPL 2025 resumed earlier today in Jeddah after an eventful day 1 on November 24. From the uncapped lot, CSK and MI clashed over a promising all-rounder from Haryana, Anshul Kamboj. His bid first had begun at a base price of INR 30 lakhs before Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings locked horns in a highly aggressive bidding war.
Before MI pulled out, the bid ballooned to INR 3.40 crores, which meant the player was sold to CSK. Anshul Kamboj saw a massive IPL salary jump due to his heroics in the Ranji Trophy 2024/25 season.

Earlier this month, Kamboj became only the third bowler in the tournament's history to take all 10 wickets in an innings. Playing for Haryana against Kerala in Rohtak, Kamboj claimed stunning figures of 10/49 in 30.1 overs, helping dismiss Kerala for 291 runs.
Beyond the Ranji Trophy, Kamboj's all-round skills have made him a big name in domestic cricket. He has 57 wickets in first-class cricket with an average of 24.47, besides those 97 wickets in List A and T20 formats put together. Recent outings have only helped him boost his reputation as one of India's brightest young talents on the move.
Interestingly, Kamboj played his first season in IPL for MI in 2024. The Haryana lad was able to claim two wickets in the three matches he played through the early season. His good show in the domestic circuit, which included Haryana winning the Vijay Hazare Trophy and accounting for 17 wickets in 10 matches, again revved up the value in IPL.
