Shahid Afridi, the legendary Pakistani cricketer, is now celebrating a new chapter as a grandfather following the birth of his son-in-law Shaheen Afridi’s son. 

Shaheen Afridi, Pakistan’s most celebrated present-generation fast bowler, married renowned ex-cricketer Shahid Afridi’s daughter, Ansha Afridi, in a close-knit ceremony last year.

The arranged set up was blessed by Shahid Afridi, who welcomed Shaheen into the family with open arms.

Meanwhile, in the early hours of August 24, news surfaced that Shaheen Afridi welcomed a baby boy named Aliyar with his wife Ansha. He was reportedly considered for rest from the ongoing Test series against Bangladesh to be there by his wife amid a joyful occasion.

Meanwhile, Shahid Afridi, who became a father at a young age and has remained close to his daughters, was overjoyed by the arrival of his grandson. 

The news quickly spread across social media, with fans and fellow cricketers congratulating the Afridi family on the new addition.

Meanwhile, Shahid Afridi took to social media to express his happiness and gratitude for the blessings of becoming a grandfather at the age of 47. He referred to himself as the ‘youngest grandfather in the world of cricket’ and thanked the well-wishers for congratulatory messages.

"You are receiving loving messages from all your friends on becoming the youngest grandfather in the world of cricket. My family and I thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for joining us in our happiness."

That being said, Shaheen Afridi ended up featuring in the first Test at Rawalpindi against Bangladesh and picked two wickets in the second innings. 

He also did a unique celebration to dedicate his wicket to his newborn son, thus capturing the attention of cricket fans worldwide.
