'You Were Destined For Greatness' - Yuvraj Hails Kohli

Yuvraj Singh sent heartfelt wishes to Virat Kohli on the legendary cricketer's 35th birthday this Sunday (November 5), recalling memories of watching his young teammate in his debut series way back in 2008 and assessing he was "destined for greatness". 

The former India stalwart lavished rich praise on the modern-day giant as he gears up for the marquee ICC World Cup 2023 face-off against South Africa. Yuvraj reminisced his thoughts of watching the promising 19-year-old Kohli burst onto the scene as an aspirational young talent and made his maiden international appearance in Sri Lanka.

Since then, in a journey of immense hard work, dedication and perseverance, Kohli has willed himself to absolute greatness and legendary status across formats in India colours. 

The great right-hander now boasts of 8,676 runs in 111 Tests, 13,525 runs in 288 ODIs and 4,008 runs in 115 T20Is at the highest level in an illustrious 15-year-long stint, including a highly successful captaincy tenure for Men in Blue. 

Yuvraj's Special Birthday Wish For King Kohli 

Yuvraj complimented Kohli for his incredible journey and as a senior pro, asked him to take a moment to reflect on his staggering achievements. The 2011 champion also wrote he is "proud" to have shared the same journey with him. 

Yuvraj also upheld Kohli as an inspiring figure and backed him to continue scaling the humongous heights for the remainder of his legendary stint at the highest level, with another World Cup trophy in sight after the two joined hands in 2011 to bring glory to the nation.
