In what can be termed a major upset, the Bangladesh under-19 team shocked South Africa's under-19 side in the second match of the youth ODI series, as the visitors now have gained an unassailable 2-0 lead. On the back of an excellent all-round effort from skipper Azizul Hakim, Bangladesh won comfortably by 104 runs.

After putting the visiting Bangladesh Under-19 side into bat, the home side were frustrated as the visitors started off brilliantly with opener Zawad Abrar scoring 57, while the one-down batter and skipper Azizul Hakim scored a brilliant 67, who was very well supported by Rizan Hossan's 52.

A few runs in the end also helped their cause as the young tigers went on to score 265 on the board for the loss of six wickets after 50 overs. Paul James and Corne Botha both claimed two wickets apiece, while JJ Basson and Ntando Soni registered one wicket each.

Chasing 266 for victory, the young Proteas side had a false start, losing their first three wickets for just 14 runs, where their top order completely failed. However, some resistance from stand-in skipper Jason Rowles saw South Africa Under-19 getting to a respectable total, but in the end, it all proved in vain as home side was bowled out for a paltry 161 in 30.2 overs, where no other batter apart from the skipper failed to even cross the 30-run mark.

Bangladesh, with a complete bowling effort, with Al Fahad, skipper Hakim, and Shadhin Islam claiming two wickets each, while Iqbal Hossain Emon, Sanjid Mozumder, and Samiun Basir each took a wicket.

In the end, the visitors comfortably won by a margin of 104 runs after previously achieving victory in the first ODI by 130 runs. The third match of the series will be played on 22nd July at Benoni, where the Bangladesh side will look to complete a series whitewash in this three-match ODI series, while the SA U19 will play for pride.
