Yesterday was tough for the billions of Indian fans, as India suffered its biggest-ever Test defeat against South Africa, followed by a 2-0 series clean sweep. Across the series, the struggle was painful to watch, as South Africa's ruthless dominance tore down the once-unbreakable Indian Test fortress.

But after the match, Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj met another disappointing experience. Just as he prepared to fly home, his Air India flight was hit with a long delay, pushing the frustrated pacer to vent his frustration on social media.

Siraj fires back at Air India over unexpected flight chaos

After the heartbreaking defeat in the Kolkata Test, the second Test match in Guwahati turned out to be a massive disaster for the side. Struggling on home soil, the Men in Blue faced a massive 408-run defeat, the largest defeat for the side by runs. Fans were shattered, the nation broken, and yet Mohammed Siraj's nightmare didn't end with the final ball. His bad day followed him even beyond the 22 yards.

After the game ended, Mohammed Siraj was about to fly to Hyderabad, but chaos halted his flight. His 7:25 PM flight never took off on time, leaving him stranded with no answers. Furious and fed up, the veteran Indian pacer fired shots at Air India for this awful experience.

“Air India flight no. IX 2884 from Guwahati to Hyderabad was supposed to take off at 7.25 however, there has been no communication from the airline, and after repeatedly following up, they have just delayed the flight with no proper reasoning,” he wrote.
"This has been really frustrating, and this is the basic ask by every passenger. Flight delayed by 4 hours, and still no update has left us stranded. Worst airline experience. I really would not advise anyone to take this flight if they can't take a stand,” he added.

Air India steps in with a public apology

After the Indian pacer took to social media to showcase his disappointment over that unwanted chaos, the Air India authority responded quickly. The airline issued a swift apology, explaining that the flight was scrapped due to "unforeseen operational reasons".

“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused, Mr Siraj. We regret to inform you that the flight has been cancelled due to unforeseen operational reasons. Our team at the airport is actively assisting all guests with the necessary arrangements. We understand how difficult this situation is, and we truly appreciate your patience and understanding. Please be assured that our team will continue to keep you updated and extend all possible support,” they said.

The entire Test series against South Africa was a disappointing one for Mohammed Siraj. While India faced a horrific whitewash on home soil, Siraj took just six wickets in the two-match Test series. After conceding a clean-sweep to New Zealand, the horror returned for India like a painful recap no one wanted to witness.
