WI vs IND | 'Never Imagined the Journey Would...': Virat Kohli Recalls 2011 Tour Alongside Rahul Dravid

Team India are sweating it out in Dominica ahead of the first of two Tests against hosts West Indies starting July 12. Interestingly, the last team India and West Indies clashed in Roseau in 2011; Rahul Dravid and Virat Kohli played in the XI together.

Now, in 2023, Dravid returns as India's head coach, and Kohli is playing as a player with 109 Tests under his belt. The 2011 Test ended in a draw, and the three-Test series went 1-0 in favour of India, which was also Dravid's last tour of the Caribbean and the first for King Kohli. 

Ahead of the series, Kohli took to the social media platform Twitter and wrote a heartfelt note for Dravid, reminiscing his time with the legend during his maiden Windies tour. 

Here's what Kohli wrote

“The only two guys part of the last test we played at Dominica in 2011. Never imagined the journey would bring us back here in different capacities. Highly grateful.”

The Tests will be followed by a three-match One-Day International (ODI) and five-match T20 International (T20I), which Kohli is part of the 50-overs format.
