'When You Give Them A Little Sniff..', English Legend Speaks On PAK's Semifinal Chances

The men in green were off to a good start, winning the first two games of the World Cup 2023, but they could manage to win only one out of their next five games. Michael Vaughan, the former English cricketer, believes the Pakistan team could still make it to the semifinals.

Because of Naseem Shah's injury, the Pakistan team are missing their frontline bowler, as he and Shaheen are the ones who can take early wickets and put the opposition under pressure.

Now that Naseem is not part of the tournament, Shaheen Shah Afridi is doing everything he can. The main reason for Pakistan's failure is that they are not picking up wickets in the middle overs, and their ace batter, Babar Azam, has not been performing up to his potential.

If Pakistan wants to qualify for the semifinals, then they need to win both of their remaining games, and that too with good margins. Now that New Zealand have lost against the Proteas, the men in green have a fair chance of making it to the knockout stage.

Here's what Michael Vaughan said

"We have all watched Pakistan, when you give them a little sniff, just a little sniff, they are very very good at going for something."

Vaughan believes that whenever something is unsettling in the dugout of the Pakistan team, they tend to do good.

He still believes they can make it to the semifinals as a lot is going on in their camp, as the chief selector, Inzamam-ul-Haq, resigned after this kind of performance from the team.

"What they need to do is the day before the World Cup, sack everyone. Just cause a load of chaos, for the sake of it, and they will win every game."

The former England cricketer jokingly said that create some chaos before the big tournament in their camp, and they will be doing better. The Pakistan team will now be facing New Zealand on the 4th of November, which can be a deciding game for both teams for that semifinal spot.
