It has been one of those days for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batters that they nobody has gone onto make a big score.

On a slow and sluggish Chepauk track, the CSK bowlers exposed the KKR batting lineup as the famed Kolkata team surrendered while batting first.

Opting to field first, CSK had the perfect start, knocking over Phil Salt for a duck. However, Sunil Narine and Angkrish Raghuvanshi had a brief resistance as they took on the CSK bowlers with ease. But the introduction of Ravindra Jadeja changed things up for the home team.

Jadeja trapped Raghuvanshi and it also brought the downfall of Sunil Narine and Venkatesh Iyer as KKR lost wickets in quick successions.

There was a lot of hope resting on Rinku Singh and Andre Russell, but even they failed to deliver the goods. Rusell, who was cheered by the Chepauk crowd when he walked into bat, failed to entertain and was eventually dismissed for a run-a-ball 10.

Russell fails against CSK

Tushar Deshpande was the bowler who got the prized wicket of Russell, but in the heat of the moment he brought out the famous DJ Bravo celebration, but perhaps that didn't go well with MS Dhoni, who looked angry with the bowler.

Talking about the innings, KKR could only score 137/9 as CSK did extremely well to restrict the dangerous KKR batters to a sub-par total.
