In the latest development, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) coach, Daniel Vettori, on Sunday confirmed that Travis Head suffered from Covid-19, thereby couldn't arrive in India on time and will miss the IPL match Vs Lucknow Super Giants on Monday. The southpaw will arrive on Monday and is likely to play Vs RCB on Friday.
What happened to Travis Head?
“Travis is coming in tomorrow morning. He was delayed. He actually had COVID, so he couldn’t travel. He’ll get in tomorrow morning and we’ll assess how he is after that,” Vettori said on Sunday.
The Aussie opener will be a huge miss for SRH as they look to salvage their pride. The team has already been eliminated from the IPL and had an underwhelming season. Head, himself has looked a pale shadow of himself, amassing only 281 runs in the IPL 2025. Head went back to Australia after the IPL was suspended due to the India-Pakistan border tensions, but he contacted Covid-19 and thereby, his arrival was delayed.
Travis Head IPL 2025 journey
Head had an impressive IPL 2024 campaign as SRH reached the finale. He, alongside Abhishek Sharma set the league on fire with their fiery starts. However, this season witnessed a 360 degree turn.
With only 281 runs, Head has failed to give starts to his team and that has affected their middle-order. The team suffered a lot as SRH have already crashed out of the IPL 2025. They have played 11 matches and sit at 8th position in the points table.
