India's cricketing community has responded with a mix of heartbreak and fury following the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. Among the voices rising in condemnation was former India U19 cricketer Shreevats Goswami, who issued a passionate call for a complete cricketing boycott of Pakistan.

Shreevats Goswami Posts Emotional Appeal

Shreevats Goswami took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account to post a strongly worded statement in response to the attack, which was claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy group of the Pakistan-based error organization LeT.

"And this is exactly why I say - you don't play cricket with Pakistan. Not now. Not ever. When BCCI or the government refused to send India to the Champions Trophy in Pakistan, some had the audacity to say, 'Oh, but sport should rise above politics. Murdering innocent Indians seems to be Pakistan's national sport and India should respond with zero tolerance and not with bats and balls," former India cricketer Shreevats Goswami said in a strongly-worded post.

He had recently visited Pahalgam and witnessed signs of peace returning to the valley, expressed personal grief over the violence.

India Boycotts Pakistan For Champions Trophy

Though India hasn’t played a bilateral series with Pakistan since 2012–13, both nations have continued to face off in ICC tournaments. However, the BCCI has taken a firm stance of not sending teams to Pakistan and opting for neutral venues. India recently refused to travel for the Champions Trophy 2025, playing all matches in Dubai instead.

Later this year, India is set to host the Women’s World Cup in October. In line with the agreement between the two boards, Pakistan’s matches will also be played at neutral venues until at least 2028.
