Virat Kohli is perhaps the most popular name in the history of Indian cricket and the former captain of India and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru gets rousing reception from the crowd wherever he goes. One such event occurred prior to the IPL 2025 match between RCB and Delhi on Sunday.
Kohli gets rousing reception
The RCB side arrived in Delhi on Saturday morning and as expected, the craze for King Kohli was at its peak as the crowd went wild and there was jubilation all around as the fans wanted to get a glimpse of the local boy, who will perform against their own team in the upcoming clash on Sunday.
At the Delhi airport, the crowd gathered around Kohli as the RCB batter found it difficult to get to the team bus.
Kohli in stellar form in IPL 2025
Just like the previous two seasons, Virat Kohli is having a stellar campaign so far. The RCB opener has racked up 5 fifties in the competition and already has 392 runs in 9 matches, with a strike-rate of 144.11.
All his fifties have come in winning causes as RCB sit at the third position in the points tally and have a chance to go past DC in their next match. He is second in the Orange Cap race, just behind Sai Sudharsan and has a chance to eclipse him in the next match on Sunday.
RCB and Kohli gunning for revenge
In the last match betwen DC and RCB, the Delhi team won a one-sided contest at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. At one stage, RCB were in a winning position, but then KL Rahul produced a stellar show as the Capitals won the contest and now, RCB will be gunning for revenge.
