Since India's foremost wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant's unfortunate accident in 2022, fans have been waiting with bated breath for the young talent to return to cricket and marvel the audiences with his audacious hitting.

With Pant already undergoing intense rehabilitation under the guidance of National Cricket Academy (NCA) management, his comeback in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 has been gaining traction, something that Delhi Capitals (DC) Co-Owner GMR Sports CEO PKSV Sagar has provided clarity upon.

Sagar stated that former DC captain Pant's recovery process is going well, and the player could be seen back on the field sometime post-March. As quoted by ANI, Sagar called the 26-year-old DC's biggest player and remained hopeful for the cricketer's availability for IPL 2024.

We hope by March he will be fit and play for us. - GMR Sports CEO

"Yes, we are hoping for the best. We can expect that he will play this season. He is the biggest player. If he plays, then it will be good for us. Our coaches and physio are doing work on him and the best part is this he is recovering very well. We hope by March he will be fit and play for us."

Previously, Pant attended DC's pre-season training camp in Kolkata in November 2023 and was seen chatting around with the franchise's director of cricket, Sourav Ganguly. Then, he headed for his maiden IPL Auction, which took place in Dubai in December last year. In 98 IPL matches, Pant has amassed 2,838 runs with one hundred and 15 half-centuries.
