"We Had Issues Over...": Jadeja Confirms Having Rift With MS Dhoni During IPL 2023

On Wednesday, May 28, R Ashwin released a new video on his YouTube Channel, which featured Ravindra Jadeja as the guest. The two-star cricketers, who have shared the dressing room for several years, engaged in a fun and candid chat. Jadeja opened up on his cricketing journey and also spilled beans on some dressing-room secrets. 

Several clips from the interview are now doing rounds on the internet and in the latest events, the fans have caught attention to another anecdote, where Jadeja confirmed having issues with MS Dhoni during 2023 IPL. 

Jadeja Opens Up On Rift With Dhoni During IPL 2023

Notably, the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League was an emotional one for the Chennai Super Kings as the then MS Dhoni-led side lifted their fifth IPL title. However, during the business end of the tournament, there were reports that things were not well between MS Dhoni and Jadeja. Further, a video also went viral, where the two looked like having a heated discussion. 

However, Jadeja, during the R Ashwin podcast, revealed that indeed there was a rift as the left-arm all-rounder disagreed with MS on field placements, which led to the two having several arguments.

"The 2023 IPL win was emotional as I went and hugged MS Dhoni after scoring 10 runs off the last two balls. Also, it was an emotional moment for Mahi bhai. We had an argument a couple of games before the final where we disagreed on the field placements and he explained to me that it was in team's interest. All the things piled up and lifting Mahi bhai was special as it was my time to payback all the faith and trust he has shown in me," Jadeja remarked, appearing on Ashwin's podcast.

Further, Jadeja went onto heavily praise MS Dhoni and also credited the former India captain behind shaping his career and constantly grooming him as a player.
