The International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) jointly organized a Captains' Day press event just before the inaugural match of the tournament set to feature England and New Zealand.

During this press event, one question posed to India's skipper, Rohit Sharma, elicited a straightforward response that left little room for interpretation.

A journalist asked Rohit Sharma about the contentious decision made in the 2019 World Cup final held at Lord's. In that memorable match, the main contest and the subsequent super-over both ended in a tie. Astonishingly, England was declared the winner based on a boundary count, sparking one of the most hotly debated decisions in cricket history.

The journalist inquired about Rohit's opinion on whether the title should have been shared by both teams as joint-winners. Rohit's response was succinct and to the point, emphasizing that such decisions are not within his purview. He stated, "Woh Mera Kaam Nahin Hai sir. Woh Ghoshit Karna Hamaara Kaam nahin hai," which translates to "It is not my job to decide that, sir. It is not my job to announce that."

During this interaction, Babar Azam, the Pakistan team captain, was seen translating the question from Hindi to English for Jos Buttler, the English player seated beside him. Babar Azam also struggled to stifle a laugh in response to Rohit Sharma's unambiguous stance on the matter.

The upcoming 2023 World Cup will witness a rematch between the 2019 finalists, England and New Zealand. This eagerly anticipated clash is scheduled to take place on October 5th at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, promising an exciting start to the tournament.
